Discovering cyclic dinucleotides mediated pathways

MW.png

Emerging evidence underscores the significance of cyclic dinucleotides mediated signaling, exemplified by the cGAS-STING pathway, as a critical pathway in driving the innate immune response. Targeting proteins along this pathway, with either activators or inhibitors may potentially be a promising new strategy for the treatment of chronic infection, autoimmune disease and neurodegenerative diseases. We seek to explore the immunomodulation of cGAS-STING pathway. The outcomes of these projects will further our understanding of the innate immune response system and provides more therapeutic targets for the diseases in which immunomodulation of the type I IFN pathway might show therapeutic benefit.
